hypnotherapy - alternative therapies on the BBC

Kathy Sykes is back for another series of examining different alternative therapies from a scientific viewpoint. From the programme's website:

In Alternative Therapies, Kathy found that hypnosis is being investigated by a number of mainstream scientists and that hypnotherapy is currently offered for a wide variety of conditions.

Kathy discovered there is often a lack of strong supporting clinical evidence but even so, there are a number of conditions where it seems hypnotherapy really could be of value.

She investigated two of these: meeting a dentist who uses hypnotherapy as a spectacular form of pain relief for a patient undergoing extreme dental surgery without an anaesthetic and a doctor who has had great success using it to treat the most severe form of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
If you are interested in hypnotherapy for phobias, weight loss, smoking cessation or any other reason, please contact Aqua Viva Health and speak to Michael, our clinical hypnotherapist.
