how long does epil-pro take?

The length of time per session depends on the area to be treated. Epil-Pro is a progressive therapy which weakens the hairs every time they are treated and prevents eventual regrowth. Repeat visits will be necessary to fully clear the area.

is epil-pro safe?

Epil-Pro has NO risk of scarring, pitting, burning or pigmentation which makes it a safe and favourable alternative to traditional electrolysis and modern laser therapies.

what is involved in epil-pro?

You will be asked to have a free initial consultation where you will receive a demonstration of how Epil-Pro works and how it feels and to give you the chance to ask as many questions as you need. When you have an actual treatment, we will sterilise the area to be treated and then use the special Epil-Pro lotion in conjunction with the Epil-Pro machine to treat every hair within the area you want cleared.

how many epil-pro treatments are necessary?

The exact number of treatments depends on the area you want clearing and the stage of growth that your hair is in. Every hair goes through a three-phase cycle - the growth phase (when Epil-Pro works best), the transition phase (where Epil-Pro may be effective) and the resting phase (Epil-Pro has no effect). Facial areas will need treating every 2 weeks while other areas may be treated every four to six weeks.

what do I need to do before my epil-pro session?

We recommend not using deodorant or perfume on the area to be treated on the day of treatment. The area should be well moisturised and clothing should be worn that makes the area to be treated accessible by the therapist. Please do not remove hair except for trimming or shaving, ensuring the hairs are at least 3-5mm long, prior to your visit.

what do I need to do after my epil-pro session?

We recommend not using deodorant or perfume on the treated area for four days after the Epil-Pro treatment. The after-care lotion should be used twice daily for four days post-treatment - this helps close the hair follicle and regenerate the epithelial cells which reduce new hair formation. Please do not remove hair except for trimming or shaving, ensuring the hairs are at least 3-5mm long, prior to your visit.

when can't I have an epil-pro treatment?

If you have any of the following, you cannot have Epil-Pro treatments:

  • Active fungal infection (e.g. athlete's foot) in or around the area to be treated
  • Active bacterial infection (e.g. impetigo) in or around the area to be treated
  • Active viral infection (e.g. Herpes simplex) in or around the area to be treated
  • Cardiac pacemaker

If you have a hearing aid, please remove this before your treatment.
